With Fiorina Endorsement, Governor Palin Displays True Leadership

Reading the blogs it seems that everyone understands Governor Palin’s endorsement of Carly Fiorina. Some attribute it to her looking out for her own presidential ambitions, but in general they all agree that DeVore had no chance and that Fiorina is best positioned to unseat Boxer .

So what is their suggestion: “Probably would have been a good one to stay out of, Sarah”.

Am I hearing this correctly? Are we now actively encouraging leaders to stay away from making the tough calls? Are we now officially asking politicians to vote present?

Many may disagree with Governor Palin’s decision, but Governor Palin is focused on the bigger picture. Her objective; for the Republicans to take back the house in 2010, whatever it takes. Ideally with only strong common sense conservatives, but in some left leaning states these candidates don’t stand a chance, so, we go for the next best thing.

To many Carly Fiorina is not what they have in mind to represent California, fair enough, we’re all entitled to our opinions, but in this case, Fiorina is more than just “the next best thing” as Governor Palin points out in her Facebook post:

Carly has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List. She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty. She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries. Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners. She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence. She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. That’s no RINO. That’s a winner.

When we elect a candidate we look at everything they stand for and elect those that mostly match our criteria. In Governor Palin’s case, that criteria includes the candidates ability to reach the end goal, which is gaining control of the house in November. With Ms Fiorina, Governor Palin has decided that Fiorina comes close to her criteria, with the added bonus, she can actually win.

We don’t always agree with the decisions our leaders make. We can complain about them, disagree with them and criticize them, but we do not have the right to ask them to “sit it out”. As for my criteria:  I want a leader that’s decisive, I want a leader that’s not afraid to make a tough call and I want a leader that’ll risk their political future to do what they think is right for the country. Governor Palin is that leader and no one is going to tell her to sit down and shut up. She won’t.
