Cubachi: My money is better spent at SarahPAC than the NRSC

Since 2008, a beautiful movement has emerged into the political scene, the tea party movement. No longer are we going to wait for the establishment to fix things in Washington. One of the ways the tea party is showing its force is electing politicians who are not part of the establishment, but newbies who embody the conservative values we espouse. As always with politics, money is central in pushing forth a candidate to give him or her name recognition and advertising.

Yet there is a problem in that.

It should come as no surprise that the RNC hardly has sufficient funds, and now the NRSC is betraying the trust of those who donate, to hand that money over to lawyers for Senator Lisa Murkowski who lost to conservative Joe Miller! Not only are we up against liberals, but now the republican party establishment who want to inhibit the power of the conservative grassroots movement. As Sissy Willis pointed out on her blog, the GOP is sowing the seeds of their destruction.

Since when is it the job of the NRSC to defend any side of a republican primary anyway? Dan Riehl uncovered this gem where Lisa Murkowski had one of her minions or “observers” accessing computers with vote tallies in Alaska. Oh but don’t worry, the NRSC loves to use your hard earned money you’ve donated in good faith for such abysmal characters like Murkowski.

Haley Barbour told Bob Schieffer on Face the Nation:

“When I was chairman of the RNC, as you mentioned, in the last decade, we never took sides in primaries. We did not endorse incumbents over challengers. Same way as I’m chairman of the Republican Governors Association today.”

“We do not take sides in primaries, and here’s why: The Republicans in Alaska have a right and should pick their nominee.”

Sorry Barbour, but the NRSC does not have that logic on their side. This isn’t the first time the republican establishment decided to get itself involved in elections. Let’s not forget that the NRSC, who made it a staple to reach out to the Latino community, tampered with the republican primary in Florida to support Governor Charlie Crist, a RINO, over American and son of Cuban exiles, the conservative Marco Rubio, because Crist can easily win that race. Oh, the geniuses that work for the NRSC. Way to go on that outreach! Little did they know the power of the blogosphere and the tea party movement.

Common sense is seriously lacking from the people in DC today. We are up against a juggernaut of liberalism in this era of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid and soaring debt that has caused our country to be near bankruptcy or already there and beyond. And now we have the establishment of the republican party that puts principle at the back seat, and power and money at the forefront. They believe government works best, not the people. So they decide to be the Johnny Rocco, from the movie Key Largo of DC (as @TheRealMirCat pointed out to me on Twitter). They choose our candidates and do whatever it takes to get them in DC.

That is why I rather directly give my money to SarahPac or to individual candidates. Sarah Palin is much more in tune to the conservative movement than any of the elitists in DC. She has spent the money donated to her, to great candidates who embody our conservative values and have the exceptional pedigree of not being a part of the DC establishment. Yes, some of her candidates did not win primaries, but how can we forget the majority that won? Many were long shots, and came up from behind with her endorsement: Michele Bachmann, Nikki Haley, Joe Miller, Allen West, Susana Martinez, Rick Perry, Rand Paul, Renee Ellmers, Jan Brewer, and Carly Fiorina to name a few.

My money will go to the Mama Grizzlies and Papa Grizzlies any day of the week, instead of these beltway groups who decide to dump money on causes that is destructive to conservatism and to the voting process. I’ve had enough of the establishment bullies. First, they lambaste democrats, as they should, for stealing the election from Norm Coleman to Al Franken. However, they take hypocrisy to another level, by disenfranchising conservative republican voters. Not one cent to the NRSC. They are a damaged and damaging organization.
